Inter Miami announces roster decisions ahead of 2022 season

Inter Miami has announced their roster decisions for the upcoming 2022 Major League Soccer season, set to kick off on February 26.

Following a disappointing 2021 campaign, the South Florida side will be making several changes to the squad. But Inter Miami faces a difficult transfer window after receiving sanctions related to the league’s investigation of their acquisition of Blaise Matuidi.

For each of the next two seasons, the club will be without more than $2 million in allocation money. With several expensive players under contract, the team must find a way to free up funds to make the necessary improvements to a roster that concluded the season seven points below the Eastern Conference playoff line.

During the revelation, Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson added that conversations between the team and certain players remain ongoing and any situation is subject to change.

“Inter Miami would like to thank the players, coaches and staff for their work and contributions in the 2021 season. The Club continues to work diligently to construct a team that will bring our incredible fans the success they deserve,” Henderson said.
