Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has this evening revealed his understandable concerns with the situation at the club, on the back of his side’s alarming defeat to NS Mura.
Mura triumph
Italian tactician Conte led his back into action a short time ago.
After securing two wins and a draw from his first three outings on the club’s bench, the experienced tactician no doubt headed into this evening’s action, up against Slovenian minnows Mura, confident of making it three victories from four.
When all was said and done, however, the Lilywhites, in altogether embarrassing fashion, failed to get the job done.
The latest in a lengthy string of underwhelming performances ultimately culminated in Spurs being put to the sword by two goals to one, after Amadej Marosa added to Tomi Horvat’s opener with essentially the last kick of the game:
“A magical Mura night!”

‘Understand the situation…’
And, as outlined above, if the latest comments on the part of Antonio Conte are anything to go by, then, evidently, the ex-Juventus and Chelsea boss is now beginning to piece together a more complete understanding of the scale of the job on his hands in north London.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle in Slovenia this evening, Tottenham’s boss was inevitably drawn on the nature of his side’s dismal display versus Mura.
And Conte was not shy in admitting that the level at the club as things stand is simply ‘not so high’, with an ‘important gap’ between the Lilywhites and Europe’s top clubs:
‘After three weeks I am starting to understand the situation.’
‘It is not simple.’
‘At this moment the level at Tottenham is not so high.’
‘I am happy to stay here but we have to work a lot to improve the quality of the squad.’
‘We are Tottenham but there is an important gap with the top teams but I am not scared.’
