Some concerning news surrounding Arsenal central defender Gabriel has emerged on Wednesday.
Gabriel subject to attempted robbery
As reported by the Daily Mail, Gabriel and a friend were followed home from a night out by two robbers who demanded his car keys, phone and a watch.
One of the attackers in question is said to have lunged at the Brazilian with a baseball bat. However, the Arsenal man is then said to have struck him in the face, wrestled with him and grabbed his hat before the robber wriggled free and ran off.
Luckily for Gabriel and his friend, it appears no physical damage was done to them.
The case has been dealt with in court after Abderaham Muse was identified via DNA, after leaving his hat at the scene following the aforementioned scuffle with Gabriel. Musa was subsequently jailed for five years last month.
Martin Lewis the prosecutor in the case told Harrow Crown Court:
“No injuries were suffered but a great deal of shock was caused. They happened to pick on two victims who were very fit and able to look after themselves.”
The other robbers involved in the case have currently not been caught. But the main thing is that Gabriel and his friend were able to remain physically unharmed.
