Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was quizzed on the January transfer market during his pre-Manchester United press conference.
Manchester United vs Arsenal
The final Premier League match of the midweek fixtures will play out at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are set to host Arsenal in a tie that could have big ramifications for both clubs’ campaigns.
Arsenal head into the game having bounced back from their loss to Liverpool by picking up a comfortable win over Newcastle, which cemented their spot in 5th place.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are 8th in the league at present but have already begun to show signs of improvement now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left.
So, with Ralf Rangnick taking charge soon and United in possession of a star-studded squad, it is expected they will be back challenging for the top-four/six soon.
And with Arsenal seemingly on course to do the same, both clubs are no doubt eager to get one over on each other this week.
Arteta on January transfer window
Ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta would speak to the press on Wednesday.
When doing so, the Spaniard discussed a number of topics, including providing an update on Bukayo Saka.
Elsewhere, Arteta was quizzed on Arsenal’s January window and had this to say:
“We are in discussions. We have talks every week about it. What happens in the January window can effect our squad. As you know we have certain players with uncertainty in the summer so we have to plan now and the summer.
“We don’t expect big things happening but we have to be very alert and prepared in the market.”
